Good to See Glenn Beck Haters Are Staying Classy! Leftists Now Claiming Beck Committed Capital Offense In 1990.
Question: how do you demonstrate your moral superiority as a liberal when self-described pundit Glenn Beck challenges your messiah’s agenda?
And thus was demonstrated the left’s manifest surfeit of scrupulousness!
Apparently, the “Glenn Beck raped and murdered a young girl in 1990” meme was born at Fark, ostensibly as a prank. What elevates this from mind-blowingly idiotic prank to unfathomably vicious smear campaign on the part of left is that liberals are actually attempting to justify this behavior.
GlennBeckRapedAndMurderedAYoungGirlIn1990.com has emerged to try to assert that the meme is a mirror of tactics Glenn Beck himself uses to “spread lies and misinformation”. Not surprisingly, there is no mention anywhere on the site of exactly what these “lies and misinformation” are supposed to be, though there are some parallels drawn to the birther “movement”. This makes perfect sense; obviously, the professed desire to see President Obama’s long form birth certificate is the moral equivalent of accusing a man of a capital offense. A quick sample:
PC LOAD LETTER: Skleenar: If Glenn Beck didn’t rape and murder a girl in 1990, wouldn’t it be the prudent thing for him to simply release his legal records proving that he didn’t rape and murder a girl in 1990. It is very interesting that he has not taken this simple step. Instead he hides it behind an army of lawyers. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO HIDE, GLENN?
First of all, Beck is barely what one imagines a birther to be. He’s never expressed much doubt that President Obama meets the Constitution’s requirement that the president be born an American citizen. Let’s also bear in mind that Beck is, as I said earlier, a self-described pundit and not a journalist. Leftists are seemingly incapable of making that not-so-subtle distinction. Not only that, but they are terrible at attempting to conflate completely unrelatable offenses. On the one hand is a man who has gently prodded the president to provide a long-form birth certificate mostly to expose his campaign promise of transparency for the rank hypocrisy that it is; on the other hand is a group of cowardly, nameless know-nothings who claim that Beck committed a heinous crime. Wow! Those two things sound eerily similar don’t they? No? Didn’t think so.
As a general rule of thumb, when the left squawks this much, and when they plumb such hypocritical depths of vitriol and viciousness, you can bet that the target of the libelous campaign poses a nacent threat to liberals’ agenda.
